My soul has this Feeling

Writhing, Choking, Stomach in my chest

Heart beating 

Loudly 

As loud as division

My Spirit has this Yearning 

Equality, Compassion, Understanding, Belonging

Heart Yearning for

Humility 

Humbly asking and questioning

My eyes have seen

Wickedness & Beauty

Unfolding 

Simultaneously

My mind knows: 

Humanity is both kind and ugly

Forgiving & unrelenting 

Justice & Mercy

Juxtaposed 

One or the other: 

They tell us make a choice. 

Them or They: 

Like we aren’t all one. 

Kind & Ugly

Coexisting 

Peace & War 

Unraveling. 

The power of words: 

Life or death

The power of love: 

Life or death

The power of compassion:

Life or death

The power of unity in humanity: 

Life or death. 

Love Thy Neighbor. 
Fully.
